Arthur Wilson
Dates: British, 1838 - 1914
Biographical Account: Arthur Wilson (c1838-1914) was born in Sheffield, the son of Wright Wilson, General Practitioner, Surgeon, Member of Royal College of Surgeons. Arthur studied at Sheffield School of Art from 1859-1861 under Young Mitchell and Godfrey Sykes, winning three medals for oil painting. He also studied in Paris between 1875 and 1890. He painted old world scenes, interiors, still life, portraits and watercolour scenes of Sheffield city centre, and was a member of the Sheffield Society of Artists.
