Robert Wallis
Dates: British, 1794 - 1878
Biographical Account:

Wallis was an engraver from London. He was taught to engrave by his father Thomas, alongside his brothers Henry and William. Later, Wallis became an assistant to another engraver, Charles Heath before working on projects alone.

 

The artist JMW Turner was one of several artists who regularly employed Wallis to engrave their works for mass production, and his engravings were also shown at the Royal Academy of Art in London.
