Shaw & Fisher
Biographical Account: James Shaw and Thomas Fisher founded their firm in 1835. They began as manufacturers of Britannia metal and silver mounted wares at Howard Street, Sheffield. In the 1840s they started to manufacture electroplate, and moved to premises at Killham Works, Suffolk Rd. Specialisms were tea and coffee sets, dishes and covers, and by the early 1850s they were selling many of these wares to the USA. The firm was purchased James Deakin & Sons Ltd in 1894.
