Biographical Account: The School of Pahari developed and flourished during the 17th-19th centuries. Pahari painting is often referred to as Hill painting as the word Pahari, means ‘of the hills’.  It is a style of miniature painting and book illustration that originally came from the independent states of the Himalayan foothills in India.
