Mrs Maryann Roebuck
Biographical Account: Mary Ann Morton Gamble was born in Walkley, Sheffield in 1826. She married Alfred Roebuck in Wortley, in 1847. In May 1850, Mary Ann and Alfred had their first child, Charles Roebuck. Alfred worked as a spring cutler and newsagent in Sheffield, where the Roebuck family lived. Mary Ann and Alfred had three more sons, Walter, John Arthur and Robert, born in 1853, 1855 and 1857 respectively. On 10th August 1860 Charles Roebuck died, aged 10 years and 3 months. Following her husband's death in 1886, Mary Ann went to live with her son, Walter, his wife, Elizabeth and her granddaughter Eleanor. Mary Ann Roebuck died in 1906, aged 80.
