Antonio Fortunato Perini
Dates: Italian, 1830 - 1879
Biographical Account:

Perini studied under the pioneering Venetian photographer Carlo Ponti along with the prominent Venetian photographer Carlo Naya before setting up his own studio in the San Marco district of Venice. He specialised in images of architecture and the Venetian lagoon which would have appealed to Venice’s many tourists, and also sold images of Verona and Padua. In addition to his architectural and landscape works, Perini achieved recognition for his reproductions of works of art, including his reproductions of the Grimani Breviary, shown at the Paris Exposition of 1867. He exhibited also at the Brussels and the Vienna Expositions of 1873
