Mr William Newton
Dates: 1832 - 1916
Biographical Account: William Newton was orginally from Worksop in Nottinghamshire.  By 1861 he was the sexton or church warden at Attercliffe Church, Sheffield, living with his wife Sarah and their four children. By 1879, after his wife's death, William was working as a butcher on High Street, Attercliffe. He served as Town Crier of Attercliffe until about 1888.
