Samuel Middiman was based in London and was known for his landscape and topographical engravings. He also engraved historical paintings for popular mass production.

He was co-author, printmaker and one of several draughtsmen for a large-scale, 2 volume book ‘Picturesque Views and Antiquities in Great Britain’, which was published 1808-11.
