John Hewitt
Dates: 1880 - 1961
Biographical Account: Sheffield born herpetologist and archaeologist.  Described several new herpetological species and first identified Wilton culture.  Between 1905 - 1908 he was the curator of the Sarawak Museum in Kuching, Sarawak.  In 1909 he became the assistant curator at the Transvaal Museum in Pretoria, South Africa and from 1910 was director of Albany Museum in Grahamstown, South Africa.
