John Alexander Harvie-Brown
Biographical Account: John Alexander Harvie-Brown was a Scottish ornithologist.  As a wealthy land owner he was able to dedicate his life to the study of birds, undertaking research trips to Romania, Scandinavia and Russia.  In 1875, he accompanied Henry Seebohm on a pioneering expidition to the Pechora River in European Siberia.  Much of Harvie-Brown's collection was destroyed by a fire at his home in 1897.
