Duncan Urquhart and Naphtali Hart were Jewish silversmiths working in Georgian London. They recorded their first manufacturer's mark as 'bucklemakers' at the London Goldsmiths office in 1791. Urquhart and Hart registered a further three marks as partners in 1795, 1802 and 1805. Their last mark registered their occupations as 'plateworkers', which shows that they were developing their areas of expertise in silvermaking. In 1812, Hart recorded his first solo mark and worked alone until 1816 when he went into partnership with his brother-in-law, and later with his son. There is no further record of Duncan Urquhart after 1805.

In addition to buckles, Urquhart and Hart specialised in making silver tea-services.
