Paul Cézanne
Dates: French, 1839 - 1906
Biographical Account:

Paul Cezanne was born on 19 January 1839 in Aix-en-Provence, in Provence in the South of France. With the wishes of his father, Cézanne attended law school at the University of Aix, but left for Paris to pursue his art career.

Cezanne led the world of art into the new and radical 20th century. He changed the style of painting, still using the bright colours of impressionism but painting the subjects in a different way.

During his lifetime he painted many watercolours & oils of landscapes, still lives and figures.

He died on 22 October 1906 of pneumonia in his home town of Aix-en-Provence in France.
