Mrs Susan Maud Bellhous
Dates: 1855 - 1944
Biographical Account: Susan Maud Bellhous of Greno House, Grenoside was the wife of Edward L W Bellhous, the director of a rolling mill, and the daughter of the Sheffield solicitor, Bernard Wake.  She is responsible for donating a diorama of birds from New Zealand in 1920.  Some of the birds in the diorama are now extremely rare or extinct, making them a valuable record of birdlife in the country.  Her sister, Jane Wake, also donated a significant collection of birds from New Zealand a few year previously.
