This is Plate 36 from 'Histoire Naturelle des Oiseux-Mouches' or 'The Natural History of Hummingbirds' by René Primevere Lesson (1794-1848). He published the book from research undertaken on the round-world voyage of the ship 'Coquille' (1822-25). The book appeared in sections between 1829-1833.
This type of hummingbird is now called the Lazuline sabrewing in English. Lesson called it Trochilus falcatus in his book, although it is now known by William Swainson's name for the bird, 'Campylopterus falcatus'.
