This watercolour of a Flagship in Reykjavik harbour shows the bustling dock, the defensive canons in the foreground and the masts of the other ships in the distance. During the Second World War Thomas Hennell was stationed in Iceland. He spent time recording the military and naval activity there. The troops in Iceland monitored the routes of the North Atlantic supply convoys to Europe.
