The Pont Neuf, which when translated means New Bridge is the oldest standing bridge across the River Seine in Paris, France. Nevinson visited Paris on many occasions and during the late 1920s spent a lot of time there making many prints of street scenes and paintings of the night life. His Parisian subjects show influences from the art schools at the time in Paris. He liked painting river subjects and he painted the Thames on many occasions. He particularly liked the movement and changing light on the water.
