Roberts was involved in Roger Fry's Omega workshops from 1913-14, before joining Wyndham Lewis and the Vorticists. This work gently mocks the Bloomsbury group's adoration of Paul Cézanne. It shows key figures (from left to right) Clive and Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant and Roger Fry. A Cézanne self-portrait is shown on the wall in the background.
