Lodge Moor is on the western edge of the city adjacent to open countryside where you can stroll across the moors to the Peak District. Walking is a popular leisure activity in Sheffield and the city’s close proximity to green spaces is part of its identity. The painting explores the geometry, light, colour and space of the landscape. Strong brush strokes and a green, brown and yellow palette capture the contours of the hills and the light of the evening sun.
