Kate Hill This cake slice was created as part of a bursary funded by the North East Area of NADFAS (National Association of Decorative and Fine Art Societies) and sponsored by Sheffield Assay Office. The competition was open to second year students on the BA Silversmithing & Jewellery Course at Sheffield Hallam University and the project brief was named 'Designing for Clients'. Kate Hill received a bursary to create her design of a Sterling silver cake slice for Jean Baudrillard (1929-2007), a French philosopher. Engraved onto the side of the cake slice is a quote from Baudrillard: "Genius is childhood recaptured". Commissioned and kindly donated by the North East Area of NADFAS (National Association of Decorative and Fine Art Societies).
