In the 1950s George Fullard’s work focused on women and children. This work captures the busy movement of a woman rushing forward, while her child looks out behind her. At this time Fullard started to use everyday bits of wood and debris which he’d collected from bombsites and demolished shops. He’s used part of a chair leg and an old picture frame here to form the mother’s leg and skirt.
