This bracelet is one of a pair and is decorated with dragons pursuing a flaming pearl, symbolising wisdom. The number nine is associated with the dragon, a strong yang number that extends to wishes made to newly married couples. The saying 'yi long jiu zi, ge zi bie' is a common wish to newlyweds. It means: 'The dragon has nine sons, each one different', expressing a wish for many sons. These bracelets may therefore have been made as a wedding present.
