George Fullard was a Sheffield born artist. His sculptures can be seen in Sheffield city centre and in Gallery 5. This drawing is of a woman and child, and is a common theme in his work. The dynamic movement of the figures is another element that is also recognisable as his style. Fullard often depicted movement by showing the effect of wind, or, as in this case, the fast-paced stride of a figure.
