Francis Dodd recorded the war efforts during both the First and Second World War. Working in pastel Dodd recorded the manufacture of swords. Here we see Tom Brealey hammering the red-hot steel, to be made into a blade. Although the gun was the main source of weapon during the wars, swords were also required for use in battle and for commemorative purposes.
