This bold wallpaper was designed by John Henry Dearle. William Morris designed over 50 wallpapers and his company Morris & Co continued to design another 49. This design was made around 1897, at that time Dearle was the head designer and designed many of the later designs for Morris & Co. He was widely under looked and exhibited many patterns under Morris’s name and even today his patterns are sold as Morris designs. When Morris died Dearle became the Art director for the company.
