Ernest Wright & Son Ltd are a family firm of cutlers who still manufacture scissors in Sheffield today using traditional hand-finishing methods. It takes a five year apprenticeship to become a fully skilled 'scissor putter-togetherer'; a traditional job title that is still used in the firm today. The company was founded in 1902 and trades from its Endeavour Works factory in Sheffield, where a wide range of scissors are currently produced. These Stainless steel kitchen scissors were made in 2012 and are based on the 'Turton' design pattern from the early 20th century. They are sold with a presentation box and a certificate certifying that they are Sheffield-made. The scissor shanks incorporate bottle and twist cap openers.
