This leaf-shaped spearhead is part of a late Bronze Age hoard that was dug up in a field at Bilton-in-Ainsty, North Yorkshire. The group contained several broken swords showing that this was a bronzesmith's hoard of metal to be melted down and reused. The objects may have been buried for safekeeping but their owner either lost the burial place or was unable to return.
