In 1937, Weston Park Museum reopened after a major rebuild and refurbishment. The success of the new museum gave the curator the opportunity to buy in new, high quality specimens. This specimen of Howler Monkey was mounted by the acclaimed taxidermy firm, Rowland Ward in 1939. It was almost certainly on display when the museum was bombed in 1940, but survived unscathed.
