Henry Clifton Sorby painted many watercolours from the deck of his yacht, the Glimpse. This painting of one of Winan's Cigar Ship's, shows Sorby's interest in unusual ship designs. The ship was anchored around Southampton for many years during the late 19th century. This is probably where Sorby encountered it.
