This mask is made of carved wood and is painted in red, black and yellow. It has bulging eyes, protruding nose, crown shaped head, big ears with flowers painted on, gaping mouth and ferocious looking teeth. This mask portrays a demon that causes illness or misfortune. It would have been worn by a shaman or spiritualist during a dance to drive the demons away.
