Woven representation of teapot, teacup and saucer in design of geometric patterns, false embroidery and half twist overlay. Woven styles used include twined, wrap twined and plaited.
These objects show the influence of European customs on traditional Alaskan culture. Although Tlingit baskets are so skilfully woven as to be watertight, this tea set was probably made to be sold as a souvenir.Display Location:
