This doll was given to Sheffield born teacher Ethel Garton by the children she taught when working overseas as a missionary in Canada. It reflects the traditional style of clothing necessary to survive the cold winters in the sub-arctic. Other items including embroidery bookmarks, photo frames and napkin rings were also given to Ethel Garton.
