This photograph is part of a set belonging to Wilfred Rushby documenting his time serving during the Second World War. Wilfred is on the right, with his fellow serviceman in the middle. The gentleman on the left is selling oranges from the enormous pile in the tent behind them. Wilfred served in the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers, and his photographs show that the places he was stationed included Jerusalem, Nazareth, Baghdad and Beriut. He died while he was in the army in 1944, and is buried in Beriut War Cemetery.
