This ashtray was given to Amy and Richard Scott as a wedding present in March 1950. Richard was originally from Poland, and came to England to join the Free Polish Army. He Anglicised his name, and later met Amy at a dance at Sheffield City Hall. Rabbits were a popular decorative motif in the 1950s. The ashtray is part of the small collection of items relating to smoking and snuff-taking in the Social History collection.
