Holland's view of the newly rebuilt railway station from the Park area is a wonderful study of atmosphere and light. Sheffield is shown under a blanket of smog and steam lit up by the sunbeams from above.
The artist has used a combination of layered washes, and then drawn the pigment away again with a dry brush to create the sunbeams and cloud forms in the sky.
