This scooter was Margaret Adams' favourite toy as a child. It was made by her father for her sixth birthday. He made it using bits of scrap wood, and originally it even had wooden wheels, because metal was still scarce after the Second World War. She played on it so much that the wheels went out of shape and she wore her shoes out braking!
