Between 1973 and 1990 General Pinochet controlled Chile with a military government, whose rule led to the deaths and torture of thousands of Chileans. Many people left the country as refugees for their own safety. Sheffield and Rotherham actively invited Chilean refugees to live in Sheffield. This badge was collected in Sheffield during the 1980s.
