During the Miner’s Strike in 1984 - 1985 very few miners in Nottinghamshire went on strike. This ‘Food for Victory’ event was arranged to support miners from a Nottinghamshire village who were striking. A convoy of buses full of food for miners’ families and supporters travelled from Sheffield, and the day ended in a march through the village.
