Marsden Brothers and Silverwood, located at Bridge Street Works, Love Street, had supplied Queen Victoria and the Royal Family with ice skates, and proudly stamped this on their blades under the manufacturers mark. The company had a stand at the Great Exhibition in 1851 displaying their ice skates. This included blades that were etched and gilded and decorated with birds or animals at the tip. The company won a Prize Medal for their exhibits.
