This is a handkerchief holder made by Painted Fabrics Limited. It is made of green silk, with a stencilled paint design of a dancer. The handkerchief holder is part of a group of items collected by Harold Simpson. Harold was injured whilst serving in the army in the First World War, and had to have his right arm amputated. He went to work for the company and was trained in stencilling and printing.
